Darrell Crate is the Chairman of Easterly Alternatives.
Mr. Crate is also Managing Principal of Easterly, which he founded in 2009, and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Easterly Government Properties, Inc., a NYSE listed company, and Levin Easterly Partners, a contrarian value equity investment manager. Prior to founding Easterly, Mr. Crate served as the Chief Financial Officer of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., a publicly traded asset management holding company which grew through acquisition. Mr. Crate currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a global organization supporting general aviation; as a Trustee of Bates College; and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Westminster Kennel Club.
Mr. Crate earned his BA from Bates College and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
Michael Collins is a Managing Director and the Head of Investor Relations & Business Development at Easterly Alternatives. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities.
Prior to Easterly, Mr. Collins served as the Head of Distribution for Kennedy Wilson, a global real estate investment company. Mr. Collins was responsible for all sales and marketing activity and sat on the KW Investment Committee. Previously, Mr. Collins was a Principal at Blackstone, where he was part of a multi-asset sales team responsible for marketing its real estate, private equity, private debt, and hedge fund strategies. Mr. Collins also worked for Eaton Vance and began his investment career with Lord, Abbett & Co.
Mr. Collins earned his BA and Master’s in Engineering from the University of Buffalo and his MBA from the University of Rochester.
Mr. Colandrea is the Chief Compliance Officer of Easterly Alternatives, responsible for managing all legal and compliance related matters.
Previously, Mr. Colandrea was the Deputy General Counsel at Prospect Administration LLC, responsible for investment adviser and corporate matters for Prospect Capital Management L.P. Prior to Prospect Administration, Mr. Colandrea was a Senior Vice President and member of the Convertible Bond and Structured Investments groups at Highbridge Capital Management LLC.
Mr. Colandrea received a B.S. in Finance and Chemistry from Boston College and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law.
